Was going to configure a box with one x GTX 260 (gui GPU) and one X GTX 590 (rendering GPU). How much of a speed benefit will that give me over just having the GTX 590 alone? This config is supported by DaVinci Resolve Lite right?

Because of the way Resolve works with a GPU in the case of a dual chip card like the 590/690, you’d be missing out on half the processing power of the card going with a single card. With single chip card like the 580… it’s a smallish difference.. maybe 10-15% less performance. This was drastically improved in resolve 9.

BTW, the 690 is a much better choice than the 590. IMO.

A 690 with a supporting GUI card of a full license version of resolve, can give quite impressive performance… I’ll be doing a write up about it soon.

Ah, someone told me that the 590 was faster than the 690 for CUDA, is that not correct?

So I need license to run a one card for render and one card for GUI setup? I thought Da Vinci Lite could handle that and it couldn’t do 2 x GPU for render?

In order to take advantage of 2 processing gpus you need the full license.

The 590 and 690 are both dual chip cards and show up as two seperate gpus to the OS and to resolve. So in order the take advantage you need a seperate GUI card and full resolve.
