  How best unskew light fish-eye photos?

  I could use some tips on how to best ‘un-skew’ a great photograph.

  A small town paper made an article on me, and their photographer took some photos. The photos are real good, except for the fact that the photographer used a really long manual zoom-lens, probably one of those 20-300 mm lenses, and he didn’t care at all about the proportion distortions that it resulted in. I asked him afterwards about the fish-eye effect, and he excused himself with “Oh it ain’t so bad”. But it is, to me.

  I want to unskew it as best as possible, using image editing and I’m ok with the potential quality loss. Photoshop has got lens skew compensation, but since the photographer was using manual zoom and focus on his lens, I can’t really find the right lens compensation.

  I was hoping for some advice and suggestions on best tools/methods to remedy my problem. I haven’t been able to get it right on my own.
