How best to set up FCP to edit a PAL 640×360 Quicktime movie?
I live in the US and I have a friend in the UK who sent me a 4 minute Quicktime movie (PAL 640×360/FPS 25/mono mp3/35 MB) – he needs this cut down to :40…
Firstly what would be the best way of approaching this? I’ve only ever worked in NTSC. It’s just that I’m confused by these dimensions…I thought PAL was 720×576… The movie he sent me is full frame and yet my efforts in FCP/’PAL-land’ play as if it were letterbox in my monitor…
The other issue I have is file size – he’d like to be able to email my cut to clients, but I’m not sure the file size would ever be small enough to do this, and I’m not clear what format would be best (it needs to be able to play on a PC, and he has to stay away from using Windows Media Player!?) I was thinking of using Squeeze to compress things….He’s suggesting possibly outputting a .swf to email, but again I’m not sure what would be best/realistic. I’m suggesting better to email a link to his server where clients can view the cut from there…
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Cheers!
