Who has a good idea, plug-in or otherwise, to paint out hot pixels. I have a lot of 2K images and want a way to remove single pixel red spots that may occur as many as 10X in diff locations on one image. I could do it in PS first, but they are image sequences.

    Thanks,
    Todd

There is a macro on Highend2d that does this in Shake or Martin Baker at Digital Heaven https://www.digital-heaven.co.uk/indexflash.htm has Reincarnation for FCP – but that won’t help for 2K unless you can play the media in FCP.

In Motion, it might be a bit fiddly but you could duplicate the layer, move it 1 pixel up/down or left/right then mask out everything except the pixels you want to replace.

You might want to take a look at Cinepaint for this. It’s open source (free!), & based on an old version of Photoshop, so you can use familiar cloning & painting tools to remove the problematic pixels. What makes it good for this application is that it has a “flip book” feature that lets you load sections of an image sequence. It supports tiff & targa sequences, & I think it also supports jpeg & png sequences. It does not support pict files.
