Im building a 360 panoramic world in AE and I`m using Paul Tuersley`s awesome Make Panorama Script to create mountains and hills, and the new Trapcode Horizon plugin to do the sky and clouds. It works fairly well but Horizon doesnt react to the camera`s movement in space, just its rotation/p.o.i.

I`m wondering if there is any way of linking the scale of the Horizon layer to the camera`s z movement so that it scales up and down as the camera`s moves in and out?

Appreciate any input anyone might have,

    cheers

    Ole,

I’ve been experimenting with this a little in AE. I have sort of worked out with the use of CC Sphere. It’s necessary to create precomp that is big (twice as long as it is tall) and put the CC Sphere effect on it in your final comp. The use expressions to control the rotation of each axis of the CC Sphere by attaching them to the camera’s rotation.

You could then attach either put the layer in 3D space or use the camera’s Z position to drive the radius of the CC Sphere. Again, the image has to be big so it doesn’t pixelate.
