Hoping an answer to this problem in the next 30 min or so – have deadline
Hi;
With a gun to my head because I have to deliver the BD at 5:00a , I’m now very frustrated by something that seems to have – but I can’t be certain – just started.
Seemingly randomly – or as a Hiesenbug – when I click on anywhere in the timeline (either within a track or on the blank no-track area at the bottom – the entire timeline will be selected.
Even more horrible, if it happens while playing, the playback cursor will reset to the start of the timeline, and the timeline focus will change to encompass the entire timeline.
Driving me crazy and making it almost impossible to pick exact points for splits that match the music (I’m editing my daughter’s fiance’s recital)
A few other threads an forums try to blame the mouse, but it smells like a Vegas thing.

You may have inadvertently turned on “sticky keys”. This feature makes the CTRL and ALT keys a toggle, like CapsLock, press on, press off.
Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Ease of Access Center\Set up Sticky Keys and make sure sticky keys is off.

That would have produced consistent behavior. The problem does not always happen, I can edit a bit, then when the bug thinks I am not looking, it happens.
I gritted my teeth and finished the edit. Two different videos for a BD. The longer one rendered fine using Main Concept to .m2v 1080 25 Mbps 60i.
The shorter one will not render. No crash, it just “stops” at random points – 37%, 75%, etc. The clock keeps running, but CPU util goes to zero and the render does not finish.
This is the first major problem(s) I have had with SVP12. Very frustrated. Have pretty much tried everything but a Vegas re-install.
Running x64 build 770. is there a newer one?

The next time it ‘stops’, you can use the Windows Resource Monitor to try to determine what process has caused the problem. Go to Start, Run, and enter resmon. In the Overview tab, look for vegas120.exe in the image column. Right-click on the program image name and select “Analyze Wait Chain”.
