  • HMC 150 When transfering files to FCP audio go out of sync

Posted by Dustin Bath on November 11, 2008 at 7:18 am

Im shooting in PH 1080/24p and when I log and capture into FCP 6.04 the audio gos out of sync with the picture. I have been shooting a documentary and have not been able to figure it out. Now I have been just down loading the raw mts files to transfer later. Has anyone had this problem? Also now that I have unconverted files on a hard drive what is the best solution for me to convert to quicktime without losing any res so that I can import to final cut? Thanks

It’s best to copy over the entire contents of the folders on the SDHC cards to your hard drive, then run log and transfer from there. Not sure why it’s going out of sync- perhaps your sequence settings don’t match?

I will try the sequence settings ans see if that helps.

Do you know the best way to convert the files to quicktime since now I cant do a log and transfer off my hard drive? Thanks

You should be able to assuming you’ve copied the entirety of the SDHC card onto your drive- that’s pretty much essential.

I don’t have a HMC 150, but I’ve been reading a lot about it because I’m seriously considering changing my Z1U’s to HMC’s, and reading about AVCHD I found this:

Click on the video tutorial of “logging and transfer”

I found it very interesting and a nice version of logging and capture for solid media.

I just bought a mac pro 8 core 2.8 with 6gigs of ram and now the import time is almost real time which is great.

But… My audio is still going out of sync on the import. Do you think im missing a plug in?

And what should my sequence settings be? Altough it is out of sync when watching in the viewing window without even dropping it in the timeline..

Are you transcoding to Prores 422 or keeping it in AVCHD????

Could it be that your sequence is 30p and your video 24p????

Have you tried capturing at 30p????? does it still go out of sync??????
