I didn’t see any flavour of ProRes listed in the supported file types. (And no HDV.)

Didn’t find any XML support but it mentioned you could open the project in Vegas…

I’m playing with the demo. There’s no interchange.

It won’t playback a 1080p23.98 ProRes in real time from a rMBP.

The effects are fun, chroma key seems pretty good.

But, this needs some work here. HitFilm 4 will be awesome!

There was some discussion a while back, and I contacted HitFilm with my questions. The main one was there any structure to take AE plugins – there isn’t. I have too much money invested to jump ship to that one – although it looks as if it does have some cool capabilities. Here were the answers to my questions as of last June:

I hear you, but this seems tone decidedly going it’s own way. It’s pretty cool. I do like the way the effects layers are just kind of built in to the editor.

It’s nice to see some left field options. This is certainly something to keep an eye on.

The express version is free for the next few days. I don’t know when I’ll play with it, but I grabbed it.

i took part in the Kickstarter for the Mac version last year..

I am on the forums too, people use AE too on there, but there are good effects so HitFilm can be used in addition to AE..

And for the price, you do get a lot of excellent tools.
