hiss on audio of mpeg 2
hi guys i just rendered a project and noticed the audio is a little “Hissy” and has a slight “whistle”, any idea how i can minimise this, im using Vegas 6, many thanks john in dublin

I use Sound Forge and Noise Reduction for things like this, but since we’re talking about more than lunch money, you can try applying the graphic equalizer and reduce the high frequencies a little.

Well, you can use the Sony Noise reduction plugin,
same place there in Vegas to eliminate your background noises.

That’s the same noise reduction engine as in Sound Forge, but they are both expensive, so I bought SF thinking that I might have better audio editing capacity. Unfortunately, the user interface is SO different from Vegas, I haven’t used it for audio editing at all. Bottom line, I should have just upgraded my copy of Noise Reduction 2.0

There is also Izotope RX, But thats also really expensive.
You grab these tools only if you are in media production
for the long haul.
I too prefer using Vegas for most of my Audio editing Stephen,
but prefer Soundforge when recording Voice Overs and handling
deep audio manipulation tasks.Steve Rhoden
