  • Highpoint SATA raid disappearing after osx upgrade

We have an 6TB Highpoint RR 2322 based Sata raid 5. The computer is G5 quad with Tiger 10.4.11. The raid was working fine with FCP for several months.

I installed Leopard 10.5 on a separate internal disk, installed raid driver, and after that I can’t see raid 5 anymore, either in 10.4.11 or in 10.5.

I need urgently to save the data from the raid. Highpoint suggested that it might be permissions issue and to move the raid to another 10.4.x system. I installed a new 10.4.11 on a clean disk on the same machine, with no success.

In 10.4.11, Disk Utility takes 30 minutes to display the disks, and I can see the raid but it can’t be mounted.

I made identical installation on another computer (mac Pro 8core) with apple xraid and everything is working fine in 10.5.

Anybody had similar problems, and eventual solutions?

    thanks,
    Peter
