  • Highlight Only One Football Player On A Video Clip

Posted by Dave Petteruto on May 21, 2009 at 12:12 am

Hello Everyone, what are some ways to go about highlighting just one football player on a video clip. I don’t want to lose the other players completely, maybe make them black & white, less intense or even ad an affect to them, but leave the player I want to spotlight alone. Is there a way to make the background of the cookie cutter so it’s not solid black, but maybe a percentage of black so what’s underneath it shows through?

    Thanks
    Dave P.

Instead of the cookie cutter use a piece of Gradient Generated Media. Change the Gradient Type to Elliptical and make the two colors fully transparent and partially transparent black. Then arrange them to make a circle around the player. This will dim everything that is outside of the transparent circle.

If you really want to highlight them, you can add a third point that is yellow and create thin yellow circle around the transparent circle.

I need to be able to move the circle or oval around to track the player, what do I do when it moves to the point where the edge of the affect is now in the frame?

    Thanks

Keyframe the center of the oval to reposition it in the Generated Media tool, not the whole frame. This is just like you would keyframe the cookie cutter.(sorry, I forgot to mention that)

Here is an article introduces how to make a video slideshow for your favorite footballer with PowerPoint: https://www.sameshow.com/world-cup/make-footballer-video-slideshow.html#242

After you finish making one, you can upload the video to YouTube to share with others.
