This will be elementary to most of you, so bear with me. I need just a basic breakdown.

If i have a standard DVD burner, and capture HD with vegas, edit and ready set go! Do i have to:

    1. Have special dvd’s to burn to.
    2. Is it compatible on a normal DVD player, will it just look standard def?
    3. Anything else that i need to be aware of?

I’m considering HD for an upcoming wedding, but if SD better, will stick with it, since very few people will have hi def players in the wedding party. Does it make that big of a difference!?

    Thanks for your patience.

It sounds like you are not ready to burn HD just yet to DVD – like most of us. You need a burner and the disks are expensive and few have a player now. If you want to show HD, some players will play WMV files in HD. The cheapest I know of is the JVC HD pro player for about $350 at B&H. This player has a network connection and a player. If the file is too big to fit on a DVD you can play it from the hard drive of a computer, notebook or desktop. Just install their hardware and connect the two machines through a switch or a crossover cable.
