There is no shortcut (that I am aware of) to do this — but it would make a great feature request [link].

No. That is really meant for scrolling, not for sampling sound at a particular point. (Though I wonder if the behavior changes depending on the comp’s frame rate — not in front of Ae at the moment to check, but it’s a possible workaround.)

Again, if you feel the behavior should be different, please consider filing a feature request.

I welcome any correction if I’ve missed something.
