I’m having a frustrating time finding a way to use 3 XDCAM discs. They’re labeled IMX 30 (handwritten) and they were shot in Greece (I’m in the US). So far I can’t locate anyone who has a way to even look at this footage. Seems it’s not HD since the available resources I’ve found with HD capabilities are sure it won’t work in their machines.
“Ask the cameraman”, you say. If only it were that easy…
I’m located in Wisconsin and will gladly ship this footage to another facility if can get FCP clips in return. Please contact me outside the forum if you can help. ke*@**********gn.com

    Hey Ken,
If you get an XDCAM reader (they’re a lot less expensive than an XDCAM deck) you can load the disc onto your harddrive, then use a free program called XDCAM transfer (www.sony.com/xdcam ) to make the MXF files into Quicktime. Unless you have an XDCAM camera or deck or reader, you won’t be able to see the footage. Hope this helped!
