Firstly I need help creating the radio effect using After Effects. We’ve recorded a make up news radio cast. I’m trying to make this sound like it’s going on in the background on a “worn out” radio.

Secondly. We’re making an intro for the movie with a kinda scary text effect. I want it like the effect used in the second Prison Break Intro.

Thanks a lot for any help! 🙂

    Sincerely,
    Eml Ulvestad

To make audio sound like it’s old-school radio, forget about after effects completely. It’s a pain to work with audio in AE and you don’t always get the resutls you want. Use a programme made specifically for audio, or just use Premiere. Try applying an EQ effect and then getting rid of the low frequencies (pulling the switches towards the left right down to zero). Turning down alternate switches (high, low, high, low) might also give the effect ou’re looking for.

To make text randomly scale up for one frame and move to another part of the screeb, and then return to normal (which is what it looks like the Prison Break text is doing) use a slider expression control and the wiggle effect. Aharon can explain how to do this much better than I can – see his podcast on that very topic: https://cowcast.creativecow.net/podcast/after-effects-expression-controls-part–30
