  • Help with anchoring Gaussian Blur area in Sony Vegas.

    Hi,

Hopefully this is a fairly easy question, and I can put it into words so that people can explain what I want to do. Well, here is what I want to do, but cant seem to figure it out.

I want to blur of a static part of a video, it will never ever move. What I have been doing in Sony Vegas is creating my track 1, and then duplicating it. Then, on track 1 I would apply a filter for Gaussian Blur. With the filter applied to track 1, I got to Effect Pan and Crop and move the “F” window to the spot I want to blur, but, and here is the problem I am having. It takes the blurred part in the “F” windows and stretches it across the middle of the screening instead of staying anchored in the spot I want it to stay.

Please Help! I cant figure out how to anchor the video section so I can leave the blurred area in the part of the screen it is supposed to stay in!

    Thanks,
    Michael

Blur the video on track 2 and cut a hole in the video on track 1 using a Bezier mask (found in Pan/Crop).

I am trying to duplicate your suggestion regarding cutting a hole in the video on track 1 using a Bezier mask (found in Pan/Crop), but have not been able to find the Bezier mask option in the Pan/Crop. I have wanted to do something similar to this in the past.

Look on the lower left of the Pan/Crop dialog. Under the Position track is the Mask track. Click the check box to get started. More info is in the help file.
