Help w/ importing avi clips, lacks video
I created some AVI video clips to edit using a screen capture program called fraps on my laptop. I have Premiere on my desktop, so I put some of the clips on my jump drive and burned some to a DVD. When I try to import any of the clips into Premiere, only the audio shows up and there is an error message about not having the right codecs. Anybody know what the problem is?

Installing Fraps on your desktop might help…depending on what the codec is.

Fraps is most likely storing the files using a codec that Premiere does not support (e.g. xvid). You can use gspot (https://gspot.headbands.com/) to see what codec is being used.
If it is xvid, you need to convert it to something that Premiere will read. You can convert it to an mpeg1 files, using something like fxmpeg (https://fxmpegwriter.com/)
