Help setup. Would like to try Media100-HD
I am using a G5 dual 2.7 with AJA Kona 3x card and a Convergent Design LE box. Upgraded to an Xserve 3.0 Quad Core Xeon pre 2008. 10 gig ram. Its the last machine I can make use of the Kona 3 PCI-X card (according to AJA). Can anyone here help me in what software versions I need to be able to use Media 100-HD? Like Kona driver version, Mac OS and quicktime versions, Media 100 version and those small details to get me started.
I read somewhere that G5 wont be able to use ProRez that is why I moved to an Intel Mac.

I read somewhere that G5 wont be able to use ProRez that is why I moved to an Intel Mac. “If you want to use the latest Media 100 version (Suite 1.5), you are good to go with the latest of everything (Kona driver 7.5, latest QuickTime on 10.5.8 or 10.6.2, depending on which OS you want to use). ProRes does work on PPC (at least in Media 100 – not so well in FCP), but of course it takes some CPU power for decoding. Obviously better on Intel Macs.

ProResHQ works fine on my Quadcore G5.
