May 14, 2009 at 10:11 pmOMG It worked!!! Thank you thank you.
I’ve been trying to get this thing back online for 4 days.

June 3, 2009 at 9:41 pmDeleting the workspace file worked for me as well. Since last Friday I have done 2 repair installations, one premier-only removal-reinstallation, deleted everything and did a full suite re-installation, then opened another account, changed my preferences, moved/tempoarily deleted plug-ins, etc all to no avail. I even created a new account where the program opened (but it’s impractical).
So, it seems it only works under certain conditions, looks like we need more data to determine the conditions under which it works! – Karen

April 16, 2010 at 4:54 pmI have the same problem with CS4.
I followed the advice of Joseph, but it did not work for me.
However, I saved the file he suggested removing to the desktop before deleting it. Thus, I could return the file to its proper location, leaving me no worse off than I was before. My reason for joining and posting to this forum was to share this advice. Any time you are advised to delete a file to fix any problem, not just Adobe and/or Premiere issues SAVE THE FILE!

July 20, 2010 at 9:45 pmHi,
I had the same problem, but I didn’t want multiple Windows users to deal with so I did this and now Premiere Pro is working for me:
1. Created a new Windows user and launched Premiere Pro. It worked fine.
2. Located the folder: My Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro and copied it to a thumb drive.
3. Switched back to my original Windows user account.
4. Located the folder My Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro and deleted it and placed the folder from my thumb drive in it’s place.
5. I located the file My Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/3.0/Layouts/WorkspaceConfig and deleted it. I would recommend that you just cut it from this folder and paste it on the desktop in case you are afraid of deleting it.
6. I restarted my entire computer.
7. After restart I was able to launch and use Premiere Pro just fine.
8. I then deleted the temporary Windows user account.I hope this “combined solution” works for others. It’s a combination of the advice of others from above, but doesn’t make you deal with the permanent workaround of multiple Windows users.
Cheers!
