I need help tryig to find out how to do vignetting in FCP on running footage. Is there an effect I’m looking over in FCP or do I need to do it in Motion or AE. If so, where do I find the filter in those programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Bobby

If you want an easy, canned effect, you can buy Nattress Film Effects for $100. One of the filters is a vignetter. Otherwise, you can use the shape generator to make a white oval that’s the shape of your vignette, place it under your video, change the composite mode of your video to “Track Matte Luma”. Voila!

Or you could just download Marcus Herrick’s free plugin for FCP from https://haiku.com.au/
