Merging clips from dual system video and audio
Hi!I have merged the video and audio of three interviews clips from the timeline, and it all seemed to work fine. But when I started creating sub-clips from the interviews, I noticed that the sub-clips are out of sync. The thing i cant understand is that when I open the merged clips in the browser there is no problem at all, as it sounds all in sync.
one other thing that I don’t understand is that one of the interview clips in which I have been creating sub-clips, the sub-clips from this interview is not out of sync. but the other two interview clips I merged, every time I create a sub-clip, it goes out of sync.
any idea why this is happening, and how i could get it to work?

Check your item properties for the clips, the audio and the sequences. I think you have a time base problem.
I’ve seen this with students that use advance pulldown removal. Sometime they create a clip where Quicktime sees it as 23.98 and Final Cut sees it as 29.97, and it causes all kinds of sync issues.
You may have an audio sample rate mismatch, bit rate mismatch, or sequence timebase mismatch of some kind.
