  • Help! I’ve lost a plugin?

Posted by Laurie Pepper on October 1, 2008 at 1:57 am

Recently got CS3 and an intel mac.
When going back to an older project, I found something wrong with one of the comps.
Figured out that it was a missing plugin,
The plugin was “cc flo motion.”
Third party? Whose? Doesn’t work any more in CS3?
Let me know if it still exists, if it will work, etc. Please.

The CC effects are part of the cycore package. They come bundled with After Effects, but must be installed seperatly. The Cycore effects have their own installer on the AE install disk. I am not in front of AE at the moment, so I cannot say if that particular plugin still exists, but I would think that it does.

you can’t find cc flo motion in cs3? starting with cs3, ae installed all bundled third party effects automatically (prior to cs3, they were a separate installer on the install disk).

if you don’t see any cc effects or keylight, then you may have unchecked the option to install third party content. just pop the install disk back in, run the installer and then see if you can install just the third party content. if you can’t, you may need to reinstall ae (w/ 3rd party stuff) and, of course, reinstall any updates to ae.

Thanks, everybody. The cycore clue was the one I needed. I did a search and discovered that I had removed the whole folder (along with a bunch of bad BCC plugs) a few weeks ago. I simply grabbed the whole cycore fx folder and put it into the AE plugs folder. Problem solved. Thanks again.
