Help! HDV-FCP 5.02 capture settings

Faryar,

Unless you captured as SD from the Z1 camera you have no way of viewing HD on your laptop. On my G5 I have a BM Extreme card that allows me to display HD on a SD monitor and output to a SD deck. With a laptop I’m not sure that is an option.

I managed to be able to capture and playback the HDV footage in the source viwer as well the sequence.
I really think its the settings…dont ask me which, i just craeted a new project and it worked.

before upgrtading to 5.0 i could play full screen in second attached vga monitor; now when moniror is attached the image freezes, audio however is heard.

any ideas?

another poker question for you…
I am trying to capture in HDV and output to DVDSP to create a 5 minute SD DVD?
what is the workflow…do you export a QT off the TL or export a mpeg 2 using the compressor presets?

and what if one was to make a QT file from an HDV file to show cleint on the computer PC or Mac

Both will work just fine. Compressor presets will work just fine. I’ve read lots about people having probalems, but it works for me.

There is an issue with Compressor and HDV sequences, where the field order is reversed.
