Im still getting to know FCP (recently switched from AVID) and am having some exporting problems. Im trying to bring a project from Final Cut Xpress to (upgraded to FCP 6 and have a project Im still working on in FC Xpress) FCP 6. Also, I have to be able to move that same project to a different computer (that also has FCP 6). I tryed to just export it as a QT uncompressed 10-bit so I wouldnt lose any of the HD quality. However, it didnt store to the correct external disk. Plus now that I think about it, I wouldnt have my timeline or any of the clips I imported. Just a QT….How can I move a project (from Final Cut Xpress) and all of its contents (captured clips, audio files, sequences, ect..) to a new computer (on FCP 6)?

Copy everything (all video files, audio files, stills, FCE project file) to the new comptuer and open it using FCP6. (you don’t need render files)

But once you’re in FCP6, you can’t go back to FCE.
