Help! Copy/Paste Part of One Project to Another??
Hi,
In Vegas Pro 8, I have two different projects in which I would like to place part of one into the other, but I’m having trouble.
I copy a portion of project one from the time line. Once in project two, I click in the time line where I would like to paste the copied portion. At this point I go to the Edit tab to paste, but I cannot paste due to “not” having the option to do so. The Paste command is grayed out as though there’s nothing on the clipboard to paste.
I’m sure there is a way to do what I’m trying to do. Your expertise would be most appreciated in pointing me in the right direction to accomplish my copy/paste problem. Thanks, Ray -

You need to leave the first project open. So open one instance of Vegas to to the copy and a second instance of Vegas to do the paste. Unlike other NLE’s you can have as many instances of Vegas open up as your system resources will allow.

I’m glad you find our posts helpful. I remember the days when I first started out (before DVD burners were affordable) scouring the Internet trying to figure out how to make VCD’s on my CD burner and wondering why my video looked so horrible from what I saw on my camera. 😉 I always appreciated and remember those who took the time to help so, as my beloved father taught me, “always give back to your community… that’s what makes it a community!” so I try and help wherever I can.
