HELP! combine multiple vanishing point data in one comp … possible?
Hi folks,
I want to build a photorealistic 3D-world in AE using the vanishing point feature in Photoshop.
I can import my .vpe in After Effects, AE makes a comp with the photolayers, a parent for them and a camera layer. Now, inside this comp, I can animate and edit whatever I want.
Problem: I want to import multiple .vpe’s in one comp and combine them as a 3D-city, but I cannot because of the wired position data of the layers and the camera.
Idea: Import multiple .vpe’s, delete their camera layer and create a single new master camera for the whole comp, combine the 3D photoobjects together as a nice skyline and animate a ride with the camera.
I tried out several times to copy position data from one camera or parent to another to bring them more or less to the same space, but that doesn’t work. Eventhough I completely zoom out, sometimes I cannot find layers anymore, they seem to be lost somewhere in space 🙁
Any suggestions? Could it be that I try something which is not possible with AE?
Thanks a bunch in advance!
Cheers,
Roman
