Help: Collected project shows missing files – no files are missing.
Hi eveyrone,
I have a project that is a bit repetative. It uses the same base template for the initial part. So I import the same base .aep file with the base textures and files that i use every time. The files have a short 2 letter addition to the name QZ so I can use the global renamer to searchand reame files with QZ in their name and replace the QZ with “version” whatever number it is.
In that way i use the same files textures every time, but they are under different names in the project file structure. The strucuture also contains folders that have the QZ shorthand for renaiming. I do this because the base strucuture has a few scripts that reference comps and I want to be able to change something in the newly imported comp without messing with the rest of my project.
The problem is that when I try to hand the collected file to the next person sometimes (not every time) they get the an error that says for example 1012 missing files ( the numbers differ from time to time) but it seem after effects has a problem finding the files in the collected folder structure. The problem now is that the files have different names – so the next person using the file does not know what look for for the relocation process. Also if i relocate one file it does not automaticly relocate all the files – it can relocate 5 -6 or 1 or all but it is very random. Is there a way to make sure that the files are collected properly and prevent this from happening when I am collecting the file.
