We’re having major issues with our Media Composer. As is standard, all of our Avid Projects and Avid Users are within named folders within the “Avid Media Composer” folder, which is within the “Avid” folder, which is within “Program Files” on the C Drive. All standard operating procudure. Navigating the hard drive we can get into all of these folders and don’t see any obvious items of interest. But as of this week, if you ever went outside the folder tree from the “open project prompt” (where you choose the user on the left side and the project on the right side) – we can’t get back in the “Avid Media Composer” folder again. When double clicking on the “Avid Media Composer” folder it freezes up completely every time.

Has anybody ever come across a probelm like this before, where you can navigate to a particular folder fine via windows explorer but trying to access that folder from the Avid’s open project prompt causes the whole Avid application to freeze?

I recall something similar, short of an Avid reinstall I think I copied all the folder contents(projects and users) to new folders(outside of the avid folder within programmes) at windows level and then navigated to them from the avid project start up menu…
