  • Help! Anyone using the HPX2000 or 2100 P2-cam?

We’ve just taken delivery of a 2100, but it’s arrived without a manual and it’s the weekend. There are no manuals/user guides online that I can find and we have two major problems:

    1) we can’t get into the System menu to change recording format/output settings etc. The menu button takes us only into the User menus.

    2) we don’t know how to switch on the onboard LCD monitor. There is no obvious

If anyone can help, we’d be forever in your debt…

I use the SPX800 so I assume the menu operation is similar.

    1. To access the full menu press and hold the menu button for at least 5 seconds until the menu appears, this should be the full system menu which is at least 3 or 4 pages. Selecting items is by pressing the rotary switch and changing values by rotating the switch.

    2. The flip out LCD should come on when opened. If not check that the ‘save’ switch is not engaged.

    Hope this helps.

No problem. I would be interested in your thoughts on the camera, I have been looking at XDCAMHD.

    All the best

Will report back. That is if I can figure out how to hook up a Firestore to it… you don’t happen to know that, too, do you..?

Never used Firestore, don’t like it. All I know is you need to feed it from the Firewire out. Sorry.

Figured it out now… Part of the problem was a faulty FW cable.

With the 200, you have to change the settings to get it to record to the Firestore. With the 2100, you just plug in the FS and it’s automatic.
