HELP !!!!!
Hi guys have a couple of questions…..
I have what seems to be a very good powerfull computer at home which runs combustion, AE, Photoshop CS, 3Dmax ect no problems…. and it also runs Avid Express DV v4.5 ( i think ) all well exept the audio board I have is not compatibale…. it thows up a error………….
though it runs nice and quick when editing video images on it
, how ever there are a couple of queries I have…..The spec for the computer is as follows:
5-3500 system comes with a Intel Pentium 4 530 LGA 775 HT Processor which runs at 3000Mhz
1024MB of RAM ( which i am upgrading to 2 or 3 gig….
two two-hundred GB drives ( internal )
graphics card is a 256MB ATi X600 Pro PCI Express
I would like to know what Lacie drives I should get for this machine in your opinion, and what sound card am i best running on it….
Also if i was to put a video board on the comp for output on a graDE 1 MONITOR for AE and combustion ect….. any idease, i was told a Matrox LE would do the job !!!!!.
Any advice would be appritiated.

In regards to the LaCie drives, it all depends on what you want to do.
Here are some suggestions:– d2 Extreme with Firewire 800 (single drives from 160GB up to 500GB)

Can handle DV/HDV projects– Big Disk Extreme with Firewire 800 (from 500GB up to 1TB with RAID 0 performance)

Can handle SD uncompressed 8bit/10bit– Biggest Disk F800 (from 1TB up to 2TB with RAID 5 for data security)

Can handle DV/HDVOther solutions like SATA products are available (for SD and HD uncompressed) but based on your configuration, it sounds like Firewire 800 would be fine.
