  • Help! 1080i to 720p vertical jitters in fcp

Posted by Daniel Gauthier on April 24, 2008 at 2:08 pm

I’m working in a 720p (23.967 fps) timeline in FCP and I have to add in some footage is 1080i (shot at 29.97 fps). Also, this 1080i footage is in slow motion, slowed down to 70% in the timeline. When it plays back in the 720p timeline I’m seeing vertical jitters.

I don’t know if it’s an interlacing, frame rate, speed, or codec issue (Sequence compressor is set to DVCPRO HD 720p60) but is there any final cut or after effects solution I can convert the 1080i footage with so I won’t get this jittering problem? Please help!

    Thanks!
    -Dan

Fixed it through Compressor – converted the 1080i footage using frame options set to progressive and exported as 720p60
