I rented the deck to out put a FCP5 HD project done in 24. The manual is a bit difficult. How do I change the mode to record and playback in 24?

Find a menu that says “Frequency”

On an HDW machine, it’s # 013. SCrew with it from there. You’ll have to turn the machine off then on.

I’ve never been in a F500 machine. Is the manual on-line so we could look at it?

Thanks. I found the answer through google.
Well, the manual doesn;t trell you and there is no menu ioption on the F500 for “frequency”
However Jon Thorn from AJA has a page that tells you everthing.

    Here is the link.

It’s all in the secret maintance menu which allow you to change the frequency recording etc.

This menu is only to used for those who really understand what the implications are so proceed with caution.

Gets me every time we hire a 500… press two buttons plus shift, stand on one leg whilst singing “My Way”, spin round three times, press two more buttons (plus shift of course!) hold the maintenence button in with the tip of a pencil whils simultaneously pressing two more buttons, phone tech support and there you’ll find it at menu level 45 in the section marked “beware of the anchovies”

Considering it’s a basic function of the machine you think it might be a little easier!
