[Will Salley] ” I shoot green-screen with a Sony Z1 on a regular basis and get very good results. There are other problems with the HDV codec that make it unsuitable for certain jobs, but for 95% of the time, the 1080i output from the Z1 will work fine.”

    Sorry will
I just finished cleaning up a huge mess where some “got good results” from the Zu1 and then had to redo all of the green screen material to get it pass thru the transmission standards.
I am glad that it works for you, but for an HD broadcast delivery trying the key HDV footage does not cut it.

    Walter –

I couldn’t agree with you more. Which is why I said “if you MUST work in HDV…”.

As long as you’re going to commit the drive space and associated cards etc. to cutting uncompressed HD, it makes sense to originate it that way and avoid all the HDV problems completely.
