    Hey guys,

Just a quick note on a lesson we just learned. We’re converting the Component video output and 2 channel RCA output on our Sony HDV deck to HD-SDI using the new HD10AVA converter.

We ran into an issue today where there was a cyclical audio static in several tapes captured. This was due to Switch 4 (Audio LVL) being set to Pro Level and not Consumer Level. Technically, this deck is putting out consumer audio levels via RCA.

Once we made the switch, the audio is clean as a whistle. Just something to get caught up in as I would never have thought of that.

Thanks to Patrick Belden at Belden Music and Sound for steering us in the right direction on the issue.
