HDV to Beta SP anamorphic
I’m trying to lay off my HDV widescreen timeline to Beta SP. It’s to be broadcast !6:9, so it’s anamorphic, tall and skinny on a 4:3 monitor. But there are subtle horizontal lines on the video, making it look a bit pixellated. Field issue? De-interlace?

Through my Blackmagic card. It shows up properly directly to NTSC monitors and through Betacam deck to NTSC monitor, except for the horizontal lines.

Are you displaying the footage on an LCD/Plasma monitor or a CRT?

I’ve looked at it on both. I’m wondering if it’s a shortcoming of the particular Blackmagic card I have on this machine. I’m going to put it into a standard def timeline and lay it off that way.

Unfortunately, I’ve never had good luck with Blackmagic cards. The AJA Konas are worth every single penny.
