HDV & the Kona 3
Hi All-
I have some HDV footage at 1440×1080 and I would like to run it out to an HD JVC LCD Screen via the Kona 3 to view while I work in my timeline.
My source files in the viewer are printing out to the monitor just fine, however, I am getting a black screen when I play in the timeline.
I have both my sequence and video output set to 1080i29.97 8 bit (1920×1080). I am told the Kona blows up the 1440×1080 to accommodate for the 1920×1080 setting, however, I am not clear as to why my timeline isn’t showing up externally.
Any suggestions?

You need to set up your playback options in FCP AND in your Kona control panel. I play back HDV through my Kona LH every day.

There is an Easy Setup for playback of HDV thru the Kona 3.
Do you have the latest Kona 3 software?

Yes, this is what you need to use. AJA Kona 3 HDV Playback and select the correct frame size / frame rate.
Do not go into the Audio Video Settings and try to set this up manually. Use the Easy Setup.
