    Hello Moo Cowers,

here is the brief, we have over 4TB of HDV rushes that have been ingested with Scene Detection on, each tape has been ingested into its own folder on our SAN, obviously for editing it is brilliant BUT the client has asked to view all the rushes with Burnt in TC.

We have Episode and it has the function of BTC BUT, all the clips are broken into a million zillion peices.

Option 1 – build each in FCP with Code matching at the start of sequence (issue is if code breaks I will never know)

Option 2 – When I make a reference HDV and place it in Episode I am having a PreFlight issue.

We are first in line for FCP Server but has anyone came accroos this ? if so what is the secret !!

    Cheers in advance

Without a doubt the easiest way is to dub from the HDV tapes to a DVD recorder or VHS. Use the code display from the HDV deck/ camera to burn in TC. Don’t tie up an edit suite for this as BITC will require a render most likely.
