Having just received delivery of a new Sony Z1U, I have a couple of questions perhaps can be answered by the learned Brahmins of this forum.

HDV Monitoring – it seems that one cannot see the output of the PPro 1.51 timeline on the Sony Z1U over firewire in HDV mode. Is this the case? If not is there a switch workaround to achieve this? I haven’t yet tried it on regular DV through this camera.
I am having a hard time utilizing the dual head NVidia 5750 GeForce card to get NTSC monitoring to work also. Can someone point me to an FAQ or thread about setting this up? I can get the desktop to extend on the NTSC 2nd monitor, but not the playback monitors to stay there – they keep jumping back to the 21″ LCD display #1. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, on the camera, is there any info on the Cinematone feature? It’s not documented with any kind of depth in the generic Sony manual.

The Cineform codec seems to work very smoothly. I am experimenting with 50i and 1/25 shutter speed etc. also.

    Any tips/tricks gladly accepted.

prem pro 1.5.1 in an HDV timeine doesn’t have firewire monitoring to the camera. You have to to to projects settting, and click on playback, and then click on a play on external monitor. And it’ll send the video to the 2nd monitor. I don’tknow about your card. I have thenVideo 6600 GT, and it’s working great.
