  HDV live capture with multitrack audio

  I have to record a 14day event on buddhist teachings and want to do it with final cut on mac.
  There is a chance we will have at least three audio channels to record (teacher and two translators).

  The camera provided is a Canon HX A1.
  I thought to use a 6 I/O audio interface like the Roland FA 66

  to take the audio from the mixer to the make and define it as the audio input source.
  But the capture preset for HDV in FCP is not editable and cannot be duplicated to make it editable.

  Seems like HDV capturing does not allow choosing a separate audio input source. Is it like that?
  Would it work by capturing the signal instead with the Matrox MX O2, converting from the component RGB out of XH A1 into component in of the Matrox MXo2?

  Given it is possible: anybody having experience whether the audio will be in sync on long takes (up to 3 hours).

  We currently record into Sony Vegas Pro on PC (where strangely enough it works to harddisk record with standard timecode settings!) and feed in 2 audio channels via microphone in.
  When we added audio tracks that were recorded on another computer with an EDIROL UA 25 and audacity, the audio was starting to run out of sync after about 30 mins.

  And third:
  To save on hardware equipment and make the whole setup easily transportable, I would like to do the audio preprocessing in Software (eg. Ableton Live), feeding its output into Finalcut Pro as multitrack input.
  If necessary I can do it on a separate Mac.
  Can anybody with personal experience comment on this plan?
