I have HDV footage (from HV30) captured with Final Cut Pro (as per Apples instructions) that looks like this:

When I import the footage for reverse telecine to Compressor, the Preview window shows the darker image like this:

After I export it to ProRes and import to Final Cut Pro I get this kind of dark image as in Compressor:

I guess the gamma shift starts in Compressor, but I can not find any settings there to change this.

I tried Gamma Correction in Compressor’s settings for output but the final image might look like its gamma is correct but colors are slightly shifted and in the end it is a different image.

Also somewhere I read that after exporting from FCP the image will return to its original gamma, but this does not happen either.

I have searched Google and CC for the answer but could not find one. I might have missed the answer though, so I would really appreciate if you could point me to the right answer or the post where the answer might be.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Thank you in advance.
