  • HDV footage becomes Pixelated after I render…

Posted by Johnny Cathcart on April 3, 2009 at 6:24 pm

Sequence settings are HDV 1080 60i – captured at the same thing. My video – and photos I import are all clean and crisp when I bring them in – – but then after I work with it – and it wants to render – it all turns fuzzy and pixelated – I export it – and the final product is all fuzzy and pixelated too… driving me nuts! This just started happening to my stuff about 3 weeks ago – never happened before. What could be going wrong? How can I fix it?

I too am having this exact same problem with HDV footage. Some shots that I have color corrected render fine while others with the exact same color effect on start to pixellate. I am rendering at highest quality to Apple Pro Res.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

Also sometimes the person in the foreground looks fine after rendering a color effect while the background or sky turns completely black. I am editing on a MacBook Pro. I don’t know if that makes any difference. It all looks absolutely fine before rendering. It’s only after rendering that it starts to distort like this. And it’s inconsistent too and doesn’t occur on all shots treated in this way.

Any information would be much appreciated.

I have the same problem – 3 GHz dual Mac Pro, 4GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.7, FCP 6.0.5, QT Pro 7.6, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT – could it be something to do with the graphics card? I did have a ATI Radeon before and it produced different artifacts (glitches) on render when hot. This pixelation problem only started after I changed cards…somebody help, this is a nightmare!
