    hey good people,

sorry to trouble you… got an issue… and im in uk.

just filmed a job in germany thought i’d give the client a treat by editing in hdv, this is my first time trying hdv on my studio system.

captured the footage to fcp (from sony hdr-fx1e) all seemed to go well… i can watch the clips back in the viewer (although a bit jerky) … they are playing fine.. the audio is also fine.

however, when i drag a clip down to the timeline….and try to play back and observe in the canvas… there is no footage playing back in the canvas? the canvas is black… however, i can hear the audio ok… erm… no visuals.

have checked all normal things… cant find anything about this anywhere on the interweb.

    anyone got any ideas?

    im using:

    final cut pro version 5.1.4

    mac dual 2.7 power g5 running 10.4.11

    hope you are all well.

    best wishes….

    simon

I’ll bet you didn’t start the project by choosing the proper Easy Setup.

On the timeline viewer, see if you checked “image+wireframe” or “image”. If you do a standard window arrangement the timeline viewer is the window on your right.
