    Hiya
Since editing in HDV seems taxing on computer resources I have a couple questions that will hopfully solve this taxing issue for me. I have a Sony A1. Is there a way that I can capture footage (hopefully even using another DV camera as not to use my A1 tapehead too much) off the mini DV tapes I shot with using the A1. Then edit in Premier Pro using the footoage I shot with on the A1. Edit in DV so as not to tax my computer and edit easier. Then when the project is done. Then somehow use the tapes again this time capturing on the A1 in the HDV format I shot on then wait a while, while the computer captures the original HDV footage off the A1 and rebuilds the project in HDV. I dont mind waiting once project is done to get a pure HDV final output. Is this all recommended and possible as I want to find a way to edit realtime, not edit in HDV realtime as my computer might not be able to but then export final output in realtime.
    Thanks
    Tyrone

This is not currently possible. Not really. You could make it work if you replaced all of your media manually. But that might be more trouble than it is worth.

What kind of PC do you have? How fast? You might be happier buying Cineform Aspect HD and using it with your Premiere Pro 1.5.1 to get realtime editing even with HDV.
