HDV capture problem – just audio, black screen
When I tried capturing some HDV the video came up on the preview screen fine while it was capturing, but when I try and play back the files there’s just timecode and audio, but the picture is just black! Any idea how to fix this?
Oh yeah, not sure if this will affect it but the tapes were apparently recorded on an NTSC camera and I’m capturing on a PAL camera. The video seems to play fine both on the camera’s viewfinder and in FCP, but the captured clips have no video. I used the HDV 1080:60 preset.
If anyone could help as soon as possible that would be rad! I’ve got to complete this project by tomorrow so I’m freaking out!

Check your capture settings and be sure VIDEO is checked.
