    Hi

Am capturing HDV from the sony HVR m10U via sony hdv firewire, and using apple intermediate 1080i codec. once a whole tape is captured, every clip begins at 00:00 time code? AM i not seeing the original tc off the tape? or does capturing via firewire lose the timecode?

FWIW Once i have my systme settings for apple intermediate via fire wire, when i go to capture i do not get the usual capture window.

Instead all i get is a prompt for a clip name, then FCP just starts capturing

    What am i missing here

    FCP5.4
    Apple g5 dual 2.7
    Kona LH
    OS 10.4

    Thanx in advance

    Bee eph

Nothing. If you capture using AIC you lose the timecode. FCP converts the file and makes a new QuickTime file and TC information is lost. You really want to work in HDV natively and not use AIC. HDV uses a different capture window.

    All the best,

    Tom
