Is there any way to edit in and work with cd audio while working with my HD video. After converting the audio of the imported track to AIFF 48 kHz 16 bit it still does not match the HD timeline set up and cant keep up with the play head resulting in a horrible crackleing sound.
I have tried changing the easy set up to DV PAL which fixes the audio play back but then all my HD video needs rendering. Does this rendering down convert the footage to DV and is there a way to edit the AIFF in my HDV project?

    thanks!!

It should have worked the way you expected… what happens if you don’t convert the audio to 48 16bit? i.e. use the original source the way it is… What is the original anyway?

Probably just need to do an item level render on the audio clip to bring it in line with whatever specs hdv is using. Highlight it in the timeline and do an item level audio render. Often forgotten FCP function that is a wonderful thing. It’ll conform the audio to the sequence settings and you can move it around, adjust levels, etc. without it becoming unrendered. Here’s hoping they come out with the same feature for video!
