  HDTV Monitoring of FCP 4.5 Video to “HD-ConnectLE” via Firewire to HDTV LCD via Component

  We first render .mov files in MAYA, then export them to Final Cut ProHD(ver 4.5) for editing. We need to output these finished sequences, retaining HD-quality(1920 x 1080i), and data rate of at least 25MBps to our Dell W3000 30″ LCD Monitor. I will demonstrate how we propose to do this, but we are seeking feedback on the details of this proposal–whether or not certain aspects are feasable.
  We will be utilizing the HD-ConnectLE to convert our digital Mac data stream(limited to output resolution of 1280 x 768) to an HDTV interlaced signal of 1920 x 1080i. The HD-Connect is not a control device like a tape deck. It’s just a filter of sorts. It is also not like a capture device.

  HARDWARE:
  [PowerMac G5] >> FireWire 400 >> [“HD-ConnectLE”] >> HDTV Component Cable(Y-Pb-Pr) >> [LCD Monitor]

  FINAL CUT PRO PREPARATION:
  (1) Edit movie clip
  (2) Export (using Compressor… ) the .mov file, and compress by MPEG-2 codec
  (3) Open Quicktime Pro 7.0 for Video Playback to LCD Monitor

  QUESTION:
  (1) Does exporting the MPEG2-compressed .mov file change it to .m2v file format for playback in Quicktime?
  (2) It is necessary to use Compressor 2, not Compressor to retain the HD quality, data rate we are looking for?
  (3) If we need Compressor 2, can we upgrade from Compressor without upgrading versions of Final Cut Pro?
  (4) We need an HDV file format for the HD-ConnectLE to do its job properly. Is an MPEG-2 compressed .mov file an example of an HDV file format?
  (5) Is an .m2v file format ( playable in Quicktime ) an example of an HDV file format?
