    Hi all,
This is a C4d car we have purchased and wish to but onto a backgrond. After reading many answers in the forum, but even though I have two sphere, one for reflecion and other for Gi, and the compositing tags adjusted for each, I still dont get either doing what they should onto the body work of the car. I think I must have to attach to the car body,or should these spheres encompass the car? this I have done but now cant see the car when I do a Render View. Iam using an hdri sphere image. Also I have tried both spherical and uwm mapping!!
Can anybody put it in a simple thread,,, Thanks

I’m assuming you have created materials and are using the HDRI’s for the lighting and reflection.. You’ll want to use those on a sky object instead of spheres.

    Thanks Jeremy,
I have read about using two spheres, one as Gi one as reflections. and it dosnt sound as though they use “sky”? Also how do you attach this sky only to the car bodywork and noteffect the floor image or back-plate?
I will keep trying and let you know. (Iam really a Photoshop man from many years- version 2)

    Thanks again

you can use spheres for reflection and GI but they have to be big (and encompass the car as you suspected). You can stop reflections of the floor and backplate by putting Compositing tags on them and unchecking Seen by Reflection.

    Thanks all,
I have just been lent “Cinema 4D 10 Workshop” and that explains it all, a great book. Thanks for the hints on Bgrds and floors.
