  HDR-CX-500 files showing up as BDMV

  Hi all,

  I’m having a real head scratcher here. I’ve got a HDR-CX500 camcorder set to record as AVCHD. My workflow is to copy the memory stick onto a SSD for editing and storage, and then mount that SSD onto my 15″ Retina MPB (10.14.6).

  My problem is that when I open the AVCHD folder that I copied from the card, the files are showing up in the finder as a BDMV package instead of AVCHD. It’s not only that the file is somehow flagged as a BDMV file, but the name of the file itself is BDMV instead of AVCHD.

  I’ve never seen anything quite like this before. Anyone know why it’s happening this way?
