    Hi.
I posted this a while back but never got a response, since the issue has gotten far worse, I thought I would try reposting.
I have an apple 23″ Cinema Display that im using with the HDLink. the monitor randomly turns itself off and on. when not hooked to the HD link, it performs with out a problem.

I thought it could be overheating, since the HDLink gets extremly hot, but over the weekend, I left it unplugged and today I have the same problem right after plugging it in.

When this happens, the USB light flashes and the 4:2:4/4:4:4 light goes off.

It sits on my desktop and isnt bumped or touched ever.

any idea what the issue could be and how it could be resolved?

    Hi Trent,

What version of drivers are you running? Have you tried upgrading to the latest and letting the HDLink Utility flash your unit’s firmware?

What is the source of the SDI video connected to the HDLink? The light 4:2:2 light goes off when it does not detect a valid signal. When this happens, it doesn’t output DVI-D and your 23″ display shuts off. It’s possible that the HDLink is faulty when this is happening but also possible that your SDI source is failing so please verify the condition of your SDI signal if possible.

Wierd, I’m having the same problem…Yesterday it was fine, today it’s not. I started up AE7 and the 23″ Cinema display was switching itself on and off. So I turned off the power to the HDLink and when it finally came on it had color shifted. I updated the drivers (2.2 I believe) but still the same problem.

I’m running a Kona 2 card. I checked the settings and ran a test pattern – my PVM gets the signal no problem, but the HDlink has strange colors. When I set the output to 525i (29.97) the HDLink displays the correct colors, but it’s a little fuzzy. In AE if I change the video prefs to 525i the same thing happens.

The same thing happens in Final Cut Pro 5.

Nothing changed in my system between yesterday and today. This is odd. Any help would be appreciated as I need to 23″ to check my HD masks…

Okay, just solved my own problem! Seems the RGB input and the YUV input somehow changed…I selected YUV and the color is fine. I’m pretty sure this is coming out of AE in RGB…

    1080i looks great. AGAIN.

Going to pat myself on the back and get on with painful roto job. Well done Kevin. Great work!
